March 28, 2013)(Case No. 512987) :Opinion testimony was properly admitted - Court Rule Updates,  Automatic Orders:  This was covered at some NYSBA seminars I did in December 2012, but since some are still unaware, 22 NYCRR §202.16-a was amended by AO/524/12 dated December 4, 2012, effective immediately, to provide that violation of automatic orders “may be deemed a contempt of court.” (Lexis states the amendment effective date as 1-30-2013).  It is not yet posted under rule amendments on the UCS website, but the adopted proposal is at http://www.nycourts.gov/rules/comments/Rule202-16pc-packet.pdfIncome Withholding Orders: http://www.nycourts.gov/divorce/pdfs/AdministrativeOrder2012_09_20.pdf
 Statement of Client’s Rights: The general form, which is 22 NYCRR §1210.1 requires all attorneys with an office in this State to post, “in a manner visible to clients of the attorney,” was amended, effective April 15, 2013. The revisions are at  http://www.nycourts.gov/attorneys/clientsrights.shtml. Note that this amendment does not, by its terms, affect the “Statement of Client’s Rights and Responsibilities” required in domestic relations matters by 22 NYCRR §1400.2.
