Mock Trial
2013 MOCK TRIAL TOURNAMENTS
Another successful season of Mock Trials is behind us. This year we had 9 area high schools participating: Academy of the Holy Names, The Albany Academies, Albany High School, Bethlehem High School, Christian Brothers Academy, Cohoes High School, Guilderland High School, Loudonville Christian School and Voorheesville High School.
Many of our attorneys coached the students: Steve Almy, Justin Brusgul, Hon. Ryan Donovan, James R. Greene, Paul Jureller, Hon. Richard Magure, Katelyn Primomo Millwood, Robert Rock, Kyle Smith, Gregory Teresi and Kenneth Weafer.
Our gratitude extends to our judges: Rick Baird, Samuel Breslin, Eric Gee, Karrone Jarrett, Gerald Jennings, Amy Kendall, Lelya Kiosse, L/Michael Mackey, John McGuire, Ira Mendleson, III, Hon. Denise Randall, John Queenan, Judge Andrew Sommers, and Mark Sonders. Also, thanks to Honorable Helena Heath-Roland for judging our Finals between Bethlehem and Loudonville on April 18th.
Bethlehem Central High School Mock Trial Team wins the Albany County title in their first year in the completion in over a decade. Bethlehem has not entered a team in the Albany County Mock Trial Tournament since 2001, this year under the guidance of ACBA members Ryan T. Donovan of Harris, Conway & Donovan, PLLC, Richard R. Maguire of Maguire Cardona, PC, Paul D. Jureller of Thorn, Gershon, Tymand & Bonanni, LLP and Katelyn Primomo Millwood of the Legal Aid Society. “We could not be more proud of our team, the students worked extremely hard and handled themselves professionally at all times“, said Coach Ryan Donovan. The following students represented Bethlehem High School in the competition: Jack Maguire, Quinn Maguire, Jack LaVigne, Jordan Gross, Jamie McCormick, Simone Roberts-Payne, James Barrier, Kevin Risch, Connor Armbruster, Noah Falk, Jeremy Falk and Satjiv Kanwar.
Thank you also to David Cardona and the staff of the Albany County Family Court for all their assistance. A very special thank you also to our co-chairs Timothy Austin and Thomas Higgs (Welcome aboard Tom!!!!) who make this worthwhile program so successful!

MOCK TRIAL TOURNAMENTS
The New York State Bar Association and the Albany County Bar Association are proud to announce the 2013 Mock Trial Tournaments!!
It is time to enlist attorneys and judges to volunteer to assist with the Albany County High Schools for competitions. We ask for at least a three hour commitment for each trial that you judge, as well as a review of the rules of the Mock Trial Competition. If you are interested in serving the community, and helping our young people in this program, please contact the ACBA’s office at 445-7691. Thank you very much!!

Announcing New York's Annual Statewide Mock Trial Tournament for public and nonpublic schools, sponsored by the Albany County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Citizenship Education and its Law, Youth and Citizen Program.
This year, 8 area high schools compete in the Mock Trials; Many of our attorneys volunteer countless hours to this worthwhile program.
